Garden

THIS lavish book is pure
Oz but offers much to enthral Kiwi readers. This is not just a wide-eyed
traipse through exotica, though. There's useful analysis of the
quarter-acre section with its front and backyard and detailed planning
guides show what just can be done to transform those areas to fulfil
today's demands for outdoor living. Everything from plant guides
to paving types and furniture for the outdoors is considered.
There are sections on
poolside planting and a garden to captivate kids. And when it comes
to influences, the Aussies are true magpies - here is pure Bali,
Spanish mission and Kyoto Zen. If nothing else, Garden is
a great starting point for a bit of "borrowing" of your own.
With lavish photography
but a user-friendly feel, Garden is extremely well-priced
- and just in time for Christmas.
